When working around the home safety should always be a priority. Using power tools and hand tool can be dangerous to use if not handled properly. It is important to read and follow the instructions that come with your tool. Always use personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, gloves and when using power tools wear hearing protection. A dust mask should be worn in a dusty environment and when using things like paints and chemical strippers a respirator is a must.

It is a given that the time will come that we have to use a ladder or step stools to make repairs around the home. Like any tool you must follow the rules regarding their safe usage. If you are unsure how to use a ladder properly then the web site LADDER SAFETY will help. Remember, what you don't know can hurt you.

Just to add to Driver_Ian's post Personal Safety, Working with and installing Gas and Electrical appliances is not only dangerous if you don't know what you are doing but there can be a liability as well. Often to install these things you must adhere to your State and Local codes. Since these codes vary from place to place We here at iHelpForum can not know the applicable laws regarding your installation. This should be done by a qualified person in your area.

Ok, that's it for me. Have fun on those home projects and always think Safety First.
